Managing Director




Eduardo Mapes Managing Partner of EFEE, a consulting firm specialized in private equity and venture capital.
Member of the Seed and Entrepreneur Capital Committees of Nafin-Economia. These Committees are part of the Entrepreneurial Capital Ecosystem Development Program of the Federal Government of Mexico. It also participates in the Bancoldex Private Equity Fund of funds Investment Committee.

With over 30 years of experience as an institutional investor in private equity and venture capital in Mexico.

Northgate Capital Mexico Director (2011-2019), in charge of the fund of funds investment strategy in Mexico. In 2006 he was the Founder and CEO of the Corporación Mexicana de Inversiones de Capital (Fund of Funds), vehicle created by the Mexican Development Banks to invest in private equity and venture capital funds. During his working period, the company was committed over 400 MDD in 38 private equity and venture capital funds.
Previously, he worked for over 20 years in Nacional Financiera, the main development bank in Mexico, at the division of private equity and venture capital funds. During that period the division was developed a portfolio of 50 investments in private equity and venture capital funds.
He was a member of the advisory and investments committees of various private equity funds on behalf of Nacional Financiera, analyzing more than 250 transactions.
Also, he designed and formalized the Entrepreneurs Fund CONACYT- NAFINSA first seed capital fund focused on early-stage technology projects.
He was a member of the working group responsible for drafting the proposal for the New Securities Market Law, 2004-2005, coordinated by the CNBV and SHCP.
Also coordinated and directed specialized studies focused on proposing reforms to develop the private equity industry in Mexico. Within these include making the new Securities Market Act (2005) the figure of the Investment Development Limited Company (SAPI), which is more appropriate corporate model to participate and receive capital injections in companies and coordinate the effort of the study for the creation of "Alternative Securities Market to Medium Enterprises”.
He was a member of the board of directors as Regional Director of Shareholders Series "C" of the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), 1997-2006.
He has written several articles related to issues of private equity and joint ventures. He was also a professor at the UNAM and coordinator in the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) of the Econometrics Diploma.
Mr. Mapes received a BA in economics from the University of Modena, Italy. He has also post-graduate studies from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Birckbeck College, of the University of London. Other post-graduate studies: Diploma in Money and Capital Markets from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Program in Business Management from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE), and has conducted studies related to economics and private equity and venture capital in the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); University of Warwick, England; The Catholic University of Chile; Babson College, USA.

Has occupied leading roles in some of the most recognized financial institutions in Mexico for 40 years, since 2002 has been devoted to implementing US subnational investing and financing models in Mexican states and municipalities as well as in Vietnam provinces, through programs supported by USAID and IADB, and promoting private equity investments in Mexican firms.

Currently is Managing Director at Estudios Financieros y Economicos Especializados, S.A. de C.V. a Placement Agent Advisory Firm.
NASACT´s Liaison for the Binational Forum in Mexico. Awarded as Kentucky Colonel, Arkansas Traveller and Louisiana Honorary Treasurer by the mentioned US States.
MBA with major in Finance and Bachelor degree in Business, both from La Salle University in Mexico City. Certified Investment Strategies Advisor by the Mexican Association of Brockerage Firms (AMIB).
Founding patron of academic and civic organizations in the State of Michoacan. Speaker on Subnational Finance in Mexico, USA and South East Asian countries. From 2000-2015 member of the Legal and Economic Issues Board of Morelia Archdiocese. NAST´s Liaison in Mexico from 2009-2014.
For over 15 years has been Board Member of industrial and real estate firms with operations and holdings in several States of Mexico.
From 2017 Board Member of La Salle University Business School, and from 2018 Member of the Governing Board of La Salle University Campus Morelia.

Daniel

W. Daniel Ebersole

Independent Member


Prior to joining EFEE’s Board of Trustees Mr. Ebersole had a distinguished 30-year public service career in the State of Georgia.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Ebersole was State Treasurer, member of the boards of $70 billion Teacher´s and Employees Retirement Systems and chair of their investment committees, Mr. Ebersole was President of the National Association of State Treasurers.

The Georgia General Assembly recognized Mr. Ebersole in 2010 with Senate Resolution 1339. Mr. Ebersole earned a B.A. in political science from Messiah College and an M.S. from Georgia State University where he received the Graduate Academic Honor Award and Outstanding Merit Award.
